Her Bb.Pilipinas-Universe stint has opened the door for showbiz-ness. The Cebuana beauty has starred in movies opposite the legend Fernando Poe Jr., and former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada. She has received two best actress awards for "Imelda, Ang Uliran (1971)" and "Napakasakit Kuya Eddie. (1987)"

Pilar Pilapil is one of the most sought leading ladies, She has starred opposite Poe, Jr and Estrada.

She also tried politics when she ran for senator in 2004 but lost.
In 2006, she released a tell-all autobiography entitled "Woman Without A Face."

Pilapil, in her book, has asked her daughter Pia on why she chose to marry a blind man. She replied, ‘Mama, you had lots of men in your life, but they couldn’t see you.”
Pilar then realized that she needs Jesus Christ in her life.
A Born Again Christin since 1995, her second marriage to Christian pastor Leo Penas in 2002 has brought her more closer to God.

It's quite ironic how someone who fights for violence against women would be involved in this tragic situation.
Beyond all this, one thing never change, the God that Pilar Pilapil has served and has believed in  never left her.
