Just in case you didn't know... it's Ryan Giggs!

Ryan Giggs and Imogen ThomasPA

You probably had a good idea about this already, but the footballer who has been granted a "super-injunction" to block reporting of his alleged affair with Imogen Thomas is Ryan Giggs.

The Manchester United star was named in the House of Commons today by Lib Dem MP John Hemming - and the rules of parliamentary reporting mean we are allowed to tell you about it.
Speaking during a Commons debate on the use of super-injunctions, Mr Hemming said it would not be practical to imprison the 75,000 or so Twitter users who had named Giggs in connection to the injunction.

The rules of parliamentary privilege also mean that Mr Hemming will not face any legal consequences for naming Giggs.

Mr Hemming said: "With about 75,000 people having now named Ryan Giggs on Twitter it's obviously impracticable to imprison them all."

But he was immediately ticked off by Commons speaker John Bercow, who said: "Occasions such as this are occasions for raising the issues of principle involved, not seeking to flout for whatever purpose.

"If the honourable gentleman wants to finish his question in an orderly way, he can do so."

So now you know (for sure). Of course whether he actually had it off with Imogen or not is another issue entirely, we must point out.

We told you this morning how fans had given Giggs a hard time at his match at the weekend, although we weren't allowed to name him then of course.
