Richard Gutierrez on His Alleged Behavior Against MMDA Traffic Enforcers: "I was calm. I wasn't rude!"

Richard Gutierrez finally talks and airs his side on MMDA's allegations about his behavior when his driver was caught violating the speed limit along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City last Tuesday.

Richard clarified the rumors that he was arrogant and rude to the extent of cursing the MMDA traffic enforcers who caught his driver Loreto Figueroa while driving the actor's brand new Audi SUV along that "killer highway".

"Kita naman sa video na kalmado ako, na hindi naman ako galit," he said, adding "Hindi naman ako nagwawala at hindi ako nagmumura."

However, the actor didn't deny that the conversations between MMDA official Angelito Diendo and Ronnie Rivera of the MMDA No-Contact Policy made him so mad.

Richard said he heard one officer say over the radio: "Sir, si Richard Gutierrez po itong nahuli namin." While the guy on the other line said: "Ayan, tiketan mo 'yan para matauhan at matawagan ang mga reporters mamaya."

Ronnie Rivera, however, denied that he wanted to call in the media. He clarified that members of the media were present in Commonwealth Avenue to cover MMDA operations and none of them saw the actor.

When asked, Richard's driver, who was going at 79kph speed during the time of the incident, admits that he did not know about the 60kph-maximum speed limit rule imposed by the MMDA starting January of this year.

"Kasi kung alam ko hindi ko naman gagawin iyon," he said.

And for the media who initially reported about his ill-tempered manner, Richard had this to say:

"Before they put that as a headline, siguro kunin muna nila side ko. This is not the first time that happened to me. It happens to me every time. Wala pa ang side ko, nasa headlines na agad."
