Vidal Sassoon: The Movie ? review

This elegant biography of the celebrity hairdresser begins with someone calling him a "messiah" and another claiming that "it's impossible to exaggerate the importance of Vidal Sassoon". At 81 he's a handsome, charming, dedicated billionaire who's worked himself up from a Whitechapel barber's apprentice to a Beverly Hills mansion, and shaped the heads of two generations. But I could have done with something a little more critical than this polished, adulatory film, which comes over like a curtain raiser to be shown at a gathering of his 10,000 employees worldwide.
