HESUKRISTO

HESUKRISTO , AN OUTSTANDING PRESENTATION
by Charito Benipayo on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 6:23pm

It was an outstanding and standing ovation that culminated the fabulous presentation of "HesuKristo", the Passion of Christ directed by the formidable actor/director/producer Dandin Ranillo and the remarkable portrayal of Mat Ranillo III as HesuKristo (Jesus Christ)... what a pro! Kudos to all the all star casts including Gloria Sevilla, Lillibeth de Rivera, Joji Isla, Lee Robin Salazar and I am so honored to be among these famous actors.. I played the role of Martha, Lazarus sister and my husband Romy portrayed one of Jesus Apostles , St. Simon.

Virgin Mary's role acted by Sheilah Rimando ; Veronica, Camille de Rivera, Magdalen, played by Maris Guison--- words are inadequate to describe everyone's performance. Family and friends who watched the show testified that many scenes taken from the Holy Bible were very dramatic and natural,i. the Lazarus scene when Martha and Mary informed Jesus that their brother Lazarus died, the last supper, the washing of the feet, the carrying of the cross , the meeting of Virgin Mary and Jesus dying on the cross , the flagellates, the Pieta where the audience drew tears from their eyes and finally the Resurection ... it was an absolute outstanding performance.

We salute  all the volunteers who, without a doubt have dedicated their precious time, effort, energy because they all believed they did it for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dandin Ranillo, along with his wife Alice who originally produced and staged the passion of Christ -i. e the Senakulo , the first title given to the play and finally it was changed to "Krito" and this year the couple decided to re-stage and revised the version of the Senakulo ,thusly  they changed the title to what they believed is more apropriate name " HESUKRISTO".

What a verve, what a performance, what a production that this great couple ,Dandin and Alice had been undertaking for so many years now.

This is the first time I have been involved with them (in acting ,  I was impressed...while we also had previously shared stage with the famous Broadway actress Stephanie Reese on her one woman show, the Journey produced and directed by by Elton Lugay) - but our relationship with Dandin and Alice  had been incredibly cemented in this fantastic production.

My husband and I had also produced couple of stage shows in the past , but I am so amazed witnessing the support of many people who rallied behind all their efforts and unsurpassed dedication to the cause- more importantly, the proceeds of this stage play will be doled out to St. Vincent Ferrer of Vallejo.

Again congratulations and a pat in a back to the couple Dandin and Alice, to all the performers of HESUKRISTO!
