Kristo 2011

“Kristo” is a spectacular live dramatization of the life and times of our Lord Jesus Christ from a Filipino point of view. Endorsed by the late Cardinal Sin and Monsignor Dakay of the Philippines, “Kristo” was initially staged at the Folk Arts Theater in Manila, Philippines in 1977, and ran for several years touring the different provinces in the country.

Utilizing the stylized form of dance-drama and pantomime (no dialogues), the play also features popular Filipino religious songs from artists in the Philippines. Because of its non-dialogue in nature, everyone can witness this momentous event. Since its re-staging in 2010 in the Bay Area after a nine-year break, we are  proud to bring it back again for this year's Lenten season.

The musical dance drama features a star studded cast led by two time FAMAS best actor, Mat Ranillo III as Jesus, Joji Isla as Longhinus the Centurion, Suzette Ranillo as Martha, Jackie Castillejo as Magdalene, Lilibeth De Rivera as Virgin Mary, Ryan Ortiz (former lead singer of Freeverse band) as John, Thage Montecarlo as Judas, with a special appearance of  Fr. Geoffrey Baraan of St. Anne’s Church, Union City and award winning actress Gloria Sevilla as the Widow of Nain.
