I'd say go ahead, but I'm somewhat confused in what the villain can do. He gets to see our moves, so he can just put a trap anywhere?
I'm against splitting until we level up.

Some people can go grab the disk and be back home much faster than it would take to download all 8 GB. ;)
But likely not if the mood strikes you at 2 AM, or on a holiday.

I have an invite to a launch party for the Playbook. I just chuckled.
You should bring your iPad.

This has to be one of the topics on macrumors with the highest ********-per-post ratio.
Seriously guys, didn't you learn anything from the PPC->Intel move?
Go learn something about ARM, the industry and Apple itself and then have an informed and imaginative opinion. ;)

Makes sense, all Apple needs is the cloud.
If it is indeed free, this is a welcomed change.

I guess I can see Apple's point. But, aren't all tablets going to have a similar style and interface? It would seem like there can be only marginal differences in a touch screen interface.
Not really. Google is actually pretty different from iOS. It's Samsung who chose to edit the interface and all those icons to look like iPhone. That's why Apple is going straight after Samsung. Android OS has some similarities but overall they are pretty different.

If Im not mistaken every KeyNote from Steve Jobs, whether at WWDC, MacWorld or any other event from Apple has been on tuesdays. Why is this one DIFFERENT. Could we see a Movie Store on Tuesday ???????
No. Unlike your last five posts (which have all said the same things, how original) have said, most, if not all keynotes are on Mondays, with the exception of special events typically releasing new iPods. Ever thought of checking something first? it's an amazing thing to do that will prevent you from making the same embarrasing mistake five times.

This seems great. Hope ARM comes with a super-fast APU for computers before long.

And there are still people looking for a "minitower" Mac...can't we put this rumor to rest???
Headless/minitower Mac = PowerBook G5
Don't forget... =iPhone
I still don't believe in the whole iPhone jazz.

anyone remember when screens were 1024x768? who would have imagined that now icons are 1024x1024... that icon is bigger than the total resolution of my first computer's display
Uhmm, how about 640x480? Or less, with the vic 20.
I remember my pos compaq 386sx2 that came defaulted to 800x600... In 1994.
Back ot, why is apple dealing wih 3200x3200? Are they abandoning the tradition 4:3, 16x9 or 16:9 aspect ratio?

Please! Make the damn phone bigger! Oh no, it may weigh a few more grams. Currently, the iphone4 is a tiny phone. For us adults, please increase the screen size, and probably, the width.
If they do then the iPhone 4 will be my last iPhone. The iPhone 4 is big enough. Any larger and it won't fit as nicely in pockets.

That's just getting complacent in my opinion, people like myself like changing phones yearly, no new iPhone means no return business, I'll try something else instead, bad move if true.
Sure you will.

Wow I'm suprised that people. Are saying it sucks before its out. Could anyone tell me why excatly its a bad product. Seems that it will be great for enteprise with the bb bridge.
The sad part is its lack of focus. The Playbook has, what might be, the best real time OS ever put on the market. QnX is really kick a$$.
RIM is killing it with no idea what to do with it. Program with Air, Flash, Android, C, C++, Java, the kitchen sink.
If it runs Android Apps just OK, will anyone bother to write real apps for it? Instead of having 200 programming APIs on the thing, RIM should get a native email client.

OK, I've had it on my MBP for about 3 weeks and I've noticed the spinning beach ball a lot more than I remember... no crashes though.
I've just taken it off; or at least tried to. I used AppDelete and it took off everything except the icon on my top bar. When I click on the icon, it says there are updates available... dooooh...
Reinstall it and use the built-in uninstaller. NEVER trust anything but official uninstallers when it comes to antivirus apps.

Why? Its just a reference to the battleground / spectator status of the decolonized countries during the cold war. (The "second world" being the now-defunct Soviet Bloc.)
From the almighty Wikipedia:
"French demographer, anthropologist and historian Alfred Sauvy, in an article published in the French magazine L'Observateur, August 14, 1952, coined the term Third World, referring to countries that were unaligned with either the Communist Soviet bloc or the Capitalist NATO bloc during the Cold War. His usage was a reference to the Third Estate, the commoners of France who, before and during the French Revolution, opposed priests and nobles, who composed the First Estate and Second Estate, respectively. "
Anyone who needs to quote wikipedia shouldn't be allowed to contribute!
Now thats a FACT!

It is trivial, in say my case, to SSH into a "workstation" type Mac Pro, say "Noble Mac Pro, run this really computational intensive code, I'll check back in a bit" and then SSH the output back to another machine when it's done. No muss, no fuss.
Now imagine you have bunches of workstations...
In my end of things we usually call that a cluster :-p

I find it incredibly hard to believe that Apple intends to maintain the closeness in specs that are currently present between the MacBook Pro and MacBook. It makes more sense for Apple to move the MBP to the Core2 Duo and leave the MacBook to the Yonah. This leaves two more speed bumps for the MacBook. First 10 2.16, then to 2.33, all the while leaving the MBP time to advance with the Merom so it can gain momentum against the MacBook.
I also think Apple will leave the MB with Yonah. They will want product differentiation and price differentiation.
So I think they will drop the price to <$1000.00 for MB and re-design MBP to provide enhancements similar to MB but with faster Merom CPU's and higher price than MB.
