Copy Kate: SamCam joins VIP High Street gang as she ALSO chooses Zara for first appearance since royal wedding

High street sisters: Samantha Cameron pairs a Zara tee with Joseph skirt for an outing to Mayfair restaurant George's last night, while the Duchess of Cambridge chose a blue dress from the label as her going-away look

High Street store Zara received yet another boost today as Samantha Cameron chose to wear a piece from the label to dine in Mayfair last night.

The move comes just days after both Kate, Duchess of Cornwall and Pippa Middleton were seen in outfits from the store.

The PM's wife, who turned 40 last month, paired a simple black Zara scoop-necked tee with a navy lace pencil skirt from Joseph, accessorised with a white Smythson clutch bag and pumps from LK Bennett - a store that is also favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge.

Mrs Cameron's decision to wear Zara comes at a time when the Spanish-owned label couldn't be hotter.

Following news that Kate and Pippa chose Zara for their post-wedding outfits, sales at the store have rocketed, with changing room queues snaking through the shop floor while other high street shops sit empty - despite the fact that both the £49.99 cornflower blue dress worn by Kate and the £69.99 jacket worn by Pippa have long sold out.

Just like Kate and Pippa, the PM's wife, a member of the British Fashion Council and former creative director of luxury accessories brand Smythson, is no stranger to high street labels.

The fashion-forward First Lady artfully blends inexpensive accessories with high design (she wore Aldo shoes with her Burberry dress for the royal wedding), but the fact she has stepped out in Zara at the same time as Kate and Pippa only adds to the store's kudos.

High Street girl: Just like sister Kate, Pippa Middleton chose Zara for her morning-after outfit, wearing a £69.99 Zara blazer paired with white jeans, a £149.99 Modalu bag and £120 Tory Burch pumps

Spokespeople for Zara remained too discreet to discuss their royal appointment, or even comment on fashion-forward Samantha Cameron's choice to wear items from their collection, though it's safe to say that staff welcomed the news.

An insider at the store confided that everybody there was 'very excited' to see Zara's VIP fan base growing so quickly.

'They all looked wonderful,' they added.
