The social services investigation into Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon following the birth of their twins has finally been closed after officials decided there was no case to answer.

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services concluded that there was 'no merit' to the case, which was sparked by an anonymous tip-off saying the Glitter star had been drinking near the babies.

Apparently, social workers interviewed Mariah, 41, today and spent time with the twins before deciding her babies Moroccan and Monroe were in a 'healthy and safe environment'.


Celebrity website TMZ says Mariah's lawyer, Laura Wasser, was present for the duration of the DCFS interview.

The investigation was triggered by a phone call to DCFS complaining that Mariah had drunk Guinness while breast feeding.

The star and her husband were allowed to take their twins home from Cedars Sinai Medical Center last week, but their delight had been marred by the investigation into wheter drugs and alcohols were used near the babies in hospital.

Cannon, 30, and Carey, who have been married for three years, have been under investigation after the television host said someone may have overheard a nurse suggesting to Mariah to 'drink Guinness... the yeast improves breast-feeding'.

The case has now officially been closed after they received a visit by a case worker at their home lasted approximately 30 minutes.

'When I spoke to the person for the CPS they said this is ridiculous,' he said.

Television personality and comic Nick meanwhile has said he is 'freaked out about being a new dad'.

On his radio show last week, he said he was worried about them suffocating or him having to possibly give them CPR one day.

'This is the kind of stuff that is making me go crazy when you have two new babies', he shared. 'I cannot relax. I am OCD-ing. They don't tell you this part about being a new parent.'

Mariah Carey Fights Vet Lawsuit

Mariah Carey has pet pooches and her lawyer dismissed the claim that was made saying that she had around 20,000 pounds to pay in medical fees with the vets for the ones that took care of her pooches.

Mariah Carey was sued by Veterinarian Cindy Bressler and the accused her of paying only 5,487 pounds when she actually owed 25,193 pounds and had the bill to prove of all of the services that she did for her dogs. Orin Snyder is Carey’s attorney and he feels that Mariah should fight the law suit. He feels that the lawsuit is just a stunt and feels that because of Mariah’s confident attitude that it's going to be dismissed.

People feel that it would also do Mariah good to fight it out more so if she really does not need to pay them and if it’s a stunt then those people need to be revealed and put to a stop of their work. Mariah Carey is willing to go along with it and her attorney is going to be helping her during the case. No one knows at this point what the outcome might be.

Hot indeed, was Mariah Carey as she arrived with husband Nick Cannon at a exclusive Halloween Eve costume party at Marquee in New York City on a fire truck.

Not only was the couple celebrating Halloween but also their six month wedding anniversary.

Even though they encountered technical problems with the backing track, Mariah was able to get back on track and later jokes to the audience A little creative. I try to bring something new to the moment every time.

Mariah Carey finished the live concert by performing the ballet Bye Bye from her hit album E=MC2 live on GMA.

Her hit album E=MC2 achieved record sales of 463,000 copies in its first week of release.

The album E=MC2 is a play on Einstein formula in which E represented energy, M represented mass and C2 was the square of the speed of light.
