Break-Up: Melissa Ricks and Jake Cuenca, Split

Yup, you read it right, Melissa and Jake called it quits.

ABS-CBN News reports that Melissa confirmed the split during the lanching of her endorsement in Makati.

“Opo, wala na po talaga kami ni Jake”

The Kapamilya actress told the press that the break-up happened almost two months ago, and there is no third party involved.

"Siguro when people go older, people change, maybe we have different sets of priorities. Basta iba. I have problems I have to fix. He has problems he has to face."

Cuenca and Ricks have been sweethearts for the past 24 months, yeah that's two years.

Prior to Melissa's announcement today, Jake has first admitted that his relationship with her now ex-gf/true friend is on the rocks.

"We’re fixing things. It’s been busy," Jake Cuenca told "The Buzz" last Sunday

Jake admitted that he and showbiz partner Melissa Ricks is like one of the many couples who go into series of trials. "Sa isang relationship, there’s always bad times and good times as well. In every relationship, meron tayong kanya kanyang problema."

Just recently, Melissa has been posting tweets that gave her followers a clue about the state of her dealings with Cuenca. She once tweeted, “Minsan pag sobrang bait mo, inaabuso ka, ginagawang tanga.. well not anymore.. I wish u the best.. :) sana ayusin mo sarili mo..:)”

What really caught the public's attention was this tweet that said, “I think enough is enough.. crossed d line long time ago.. pagod nako..:) buti pa twitter friends ko papasaya ako! Ehehe”

According to the rumor mill, Jake has been pretty busy with his schedule that he allegedly finds it hard to spend time with Melissa nowadays. 

Melissa Ricks keeps mum when being inquired about her tweets on her micro-blogging site.

What if they break up, will they still be friends?

“No matter what happens, ang suporta ko kay Mel ay laging nandoon. Walang taong sumuporta sa akin katulad ni Mel. Sobra talaga ang suporta niya sa akin,” Jake answered
