Singer Enrique Iglesias is being sued by the mother of an 11 year-old girl for emotional distress after she witnessed him allegedly run over her daughters foot.
Lizette Torres and her daughter Susan Bonilla are suing Enrique and his manager Fernando Giaccardi, claiming Fernando backed up his vehicle in an "unsafe manner" while on a private property.
Apparently the little girl rushed over to the car to get an autograph from Enrique and had her foot run over by accident. The incident happened back in 2007, but since times are tough, Lizette figured she'd finally cash in on her "emotional" experience.
She claims she suffered "emotional injury and emotional shock to her nervous system causing her damages." She's asking for $25,000 in damages.
The little girl walked away without injuries, so it sounds like the mother is just using his celebrity status as an excuse to milk some money out of him. What are your thoughts?
Singer Enrique Iglesias got the scare of his life when his plane headed for London was suddenly forced to make an emergency landing at Luton Airport in Bedfordshire.
Enrique, 33, was on the plane when it began to experience some trouble, so the pilot made the snap decision to land immediately.
They were only on the tarmac briefly before heading back out to London. The singer's representative told The Daily Mail UK, "The highly skilled pilots managed to make a safe landing."
In light of the serious plane crash that Travis Barker and DJ AM barely escaped, we’re glad to hear that no one was hurt in this case.
Anna Kournikova has been out of the spotlight for a little while now, and she says that's exactly how she likes it. Anna sat down with Sports Illustrated and talked about all the rumors that go along with being who she is.
First order of business? "I'm not married, not pregnant, didn't have a boob job, no Botox. What else?" Well she gets right to the point, doesn't she?
Anna also addressed how the paparazzi affect her and boyfriend Enrique Iglesias. She says, "Girls look at him. Guys look at me. It goes with the job, but it gets annoying when you feel violated. Just take the picture and be done."
As for the pressures of looking good in Hollywood, Anna says she doesn't mind aging, and doesn't understand the obsession with staying young. She says, "Why are people afraid of getting older? You feel wiser. You feel more mature. You feel like you know yourself better. You would trade that for softer skin? Not me!"
It seems like Anna has transitioned very well from being in the limelight so much, so fading into the background, all while staying grounded, and staying with Enrique! Maybe no marriage is the best-kept secret to a lasting relationship!
When it comes to his personal life, Enrique Iglesias is as private as it gets. And when he does talk, it always contradicts comments he's made before, so it's hard to tell when he's joking and when he's serious.
Enrique apparently just told the Daily Star: "Oh I'm not married, no. I mean I was married. I was married, seriously.
"I was married a year ago to Anna and I don't know what happened. We're not married anymore but we are kind of still in contact."
Enrique Iglesias made a joke once about having a small penis and that joke is still biting him in his ass.
He says, "I said I had a small penis as a joke. And they took it literally when it is not the truth...So when people find out it's not the case they are pleasantly surprised."
Enrique has been with Anna Kournikova ever since we can remember so what people is he talking about? I'm sure Anna was happy that her man was packing weight but are there others too?
When it comes to super private couple Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova, it's hard to tell when they're being serious and when they're being sarcastic.
Enrique claims that he's repeatedly asked his longtime girlfriend Anna to marry him but he's had no luck. He says, ''I always try, but she pays me no attention.''
It's hard to believe that anyone would ignore Enrique's marriage proposal. He's so damn hot, we'd marry him in a heartbeat.
Here's a man who doesn't care what people think of him. On a recent appearance on El Show De Cristina, Enrique Iglesias told viewers about his love affair with a little blue pill.
He said, "I don't like Viagra. I need Viagra."
Hey now! TMI Enrique! Anna doesn't seem to be complaining though.
Last night Enrique Iglesias hit the Nokia theatre in Downtown, Los Angeles to perform his final concert for his 'Insomniac' tour. Enrique put on one hell of a performance and it seems like one crazy fan just couldn't resist the Latin heartthrob.
The crazy fan jumped on stage and was pulling Enrique by his legs, she was so determined to climb on top of him that security was even having a hard time stopping her.
Enrique was being a good sport about the situation and was laughing it off, while the fan was grabbing on. She than jumped on his neck and wouldn’t let go, she even took him down with her at one point. Enrique tried to calm the crazy fan, who was sobbing at this point, until several securities came and escorted her out of the arena.
The madness didn’t end there, at the end of the show, Enrique encourage all fans to have a good time and forget all the drama and security, with that said over 100 fans ran on stage to attack the hottie. Enrique had to run off to the side of the stage and hide until the fans were cleared. One fan got caught in a headlock by securities when she tried to run to Enrique.
Enrique fans don't mess around, but we can’t blame them, after all, this guy is the Casanova of our generation, he teased the audience with his serenades and sexual moves. Now that’s muy caliente!
Anna Kournikova may have been in a relationship with Enrique Iglesias for eight years, but it appears she has no trouble keeping the passion alive.
The blonde relied on a fail-safe classic for a romantic date with the Escape singer - a little black dress.
And although cleavage and legs would generally be regarded as a fashion faux-pas, in this case Anna wisely chose to bend the rules.
But then, with a flawless figure and golden complexion, who could blame her?
Anna, 28, cut a stunning figure in a black mini-dress and high heels. Despite her revealing attire, she seemed to receive no complaints from boyfriend.
The couple, who have been dating since 2001, appeared the picture of happiness as they enjoyed dinner in Paris last night.
Since retiring from professional tennis, Anna has been busy making a name for herself as a model.
And by the looks of things, her career is in no danger of dwindling.
Earlier in the day, the pair, who live together in Miami, were spotted jewellery shopping at Cartier - fueling further rumours they intend to marry.
Enrique, dressed down in a cap and hoodie, put a protective arm around his girlfriend as they strolled around the French capital.
The 34-year-old has been vocal about his desire to tie the knot, despite Anna's determination to never get married.
The Hero singer said: 'I always try, but she pays me no attention.'
False reports circulated in 2004 that the pair got married in a secret ceremony in Mexico after Kournikova was pictured wearing a wedding band on her ring finger at the time.
The couple continued to face speculation in 2007 when Iglesias jokingly told a Swedish newspaper, 'We're divorced. I am single now, but that's okay. I don't mind being alone.'

Enrique Iglesias is the new face of the Azzaro Pour Homme fragrance.
The Spanish singer has been chosen to front the 31-year-old scent's new advertising campaign because of his "good looks" and "innate sensuality".
A statement on Enrique's official website said: "It takes a certain kind of man to personify the distinctive style of this iconic fragrance - the eternal charmer, a man who loves and respects women. The proverbial 'tall, dark and handsome'… good looks, unmistakable, innate sensuality, a magnetic personality and energy… that man is Enrique Iglesias, chosen by the brand to personify the enigmatic charisma of Azzaro Pour Homme starting in October 2009."
The popular men's scent was created in 1978 and has developed a stong fanbase ever since.
Artistic Director Michael Mallard, who was responsible for casting Enrique, apparently used the image to recreate the 34-year-old womaniser's "magnetic charm".
The statement continued: "The new Azzaro Pour Homme visual revisits the legend of the seducer, giving him a contemporary, magnetic charm. In a timeless black and white atmosphere, Enrique Iglesias embodies a new take on sensuality in the Azzaro Pour Homme universe. Passionately embraced by a woman bewitched by his fragrance, the man imposes his devastating charm. Enrique Iglesias sets the stage for relaxed elegance and conveys his reassuring, distinctive virility in the image of the sleek, sensual aura of Azzaro Pour Homme."
The campaign was shot by renowned photographer Steven Klein at New York's famous Pier 59 Studio.
Enrique Iglesias, 34, and tennis player Anna Kournikova, 28, who've been dating on and off for almost eight years, were spotted Thursday afternoon at the Cartier Champs-Elysees boutique in Paris – once again prompting speculation the longtime couple may be getting married.
The pair spent 40 minutes inside the high-end jewelry store, but it's not known if they walked away with a new bauble for Kournikova.
Though Kournikova has dodged engagement rumors in the past – she told PEOPLE in April 2008 that she was "never getting married" – Iglesias has been vocal about his desire to marry her.
"I always try, but she pays me no attention," Iglesias told reporters a couple of days later after Kournikova made her comments.
Rumors circulated in 2004 that the pair got married in a secret ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Kournikova was photographed wearing a wedding band on her ring finger at the time – but the reports proved not to be true.
The couple continued to face speculation in May 2007 when Iglesias told a Swedish newspaper, "We're divorced. I am single now, but that's okay. I don't mind being alone." He later retracted his quotes and told reporters it was simply a joke.
A warrant has been posted on the Interpol website for the arrest of a Spanish concert promoter who was convicted in Dubai in 2003 of breach of trust after a falling-out with his business partner.
Francisco Campo, 48, was convicted in his absence following a wrangle with the former partner, Jackie Wartanian.
The pair had run an events organising company in Dubai, Connection Sports Management (CSM), and fell out after a dispute over financing in 2002 following a CSM-organised concert that year in Dubai by the Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
According to court documents, Campo was charged with breach of trust on June 5, 2002, found guilty on June 1, 2003, and sentenced to one year in jail followed by deportation. The case revolved around a €600,000 (Dh3.2m) claim that Ms Wartanian had brought against Campo over fraudulent business dealings. Ms Wartanian’s lawyer, Amna Jallaf, said a civil case had also been filed against Campo.
“Ms Wartanian gave him around US$1m (Dh3.67m) on the understanding he would manage and run the business,” Ms Jallaf said. “He took all the money and disappeared.”
The arrest warrant was published by Interpol after papers were filed on September 8 this year.
In a telephone interview, Campo’s wife, Melissa, 40, said the couple were unaware of the legal proceedings at the time they left the company and the UAE, in February 2003. Campo is reported to have said that €600,000 was used to pay the Spanish singer, although there is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on the part of Mr Iglesias.
“We had no idea there was a court case when we left the UAE,” Mrs Campo said. “We only found out there was an arrest warrant about two months ago. It came as a complete shock.
“We left Dubai in February 2003 with a valid passport and informed the authorities we were leaving.”
Campo now lives in Spain and is director of Wine Future, a popular conference. It is next due to be held in November, and wine critics such as Oz Clarke and Steven Spurrier are expected to attend.
Mrs Campo said the dispute centred on Ms Wartanian’s purchase of shares in CSM in 2000.
The company struggled in the years following the September 11 attacks in New York in 2001 because fewer westerners wanted to visit the Middle East at that time. She said Ms Wartanian later wanted to leave the company and asked that Campo buy out her shares in the firm, but that he refused.
“When you invest in a company, you take a chance that the company is going to do well,” Mrs Campo said.
“If it doesn’t do well, then you don’t just ask for your money back.
“We definitely don’t owe her any money. We are speaking to lawyers in Washington. They believe the case may contravene international law.”
There is no extradition treaty between the UAE and Spain, although an agreement has been drafted and is due to be signed by representatives from both countries in the coming months.
A spokesman for the Spanish embassy in Abu Dhabi said the lack of a formal treaty would not necessarily prevent Campo from being deported should UAE authorities lodge a formal request.
The businessman launched a company called Connections Sports Services in 1997, which later became Connections Sports and Music in 1999 and then Centre Stage Management.
Under the different names the firm managed sports and rock events with a host of internationally renowned stars such as the tennis players Andre Agassi and Stefan Edberg, and the music entertainers Pink Floyd and Sting.
Ms Jallaf said she had been in touch with Campo’s lawyers, who she said were “looking to resolve matters in connection with the case”.
Where else but the Alma Awards would David Archuleta, Lynda Carter and Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo be nominated in the same category? They are all part of this year's eclectic mix of music honorees.
Archuleta, the Miami-born son of a Honduran singer, is one of two rising star honorees -- the other is R&B singer Kat DeLuna, born in New York to Dominican parents. After finishing second last year on "American Idol,"Archuleta has sold close to a million copies of his self-titled debut album. DeLuna's debut "9 Lives" earned a Latin Billboard award, and she is currently working on a follow-up.
Enrique Iglesias and Christina Aguilera are well-established pop singers in both Spanish and English. The son of Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias, Enrique was named bestselling Latin performer at last year's World Music Awards and won the 2008 American Music Award as favorite Latin artist. Aguilera marked her 10 years in music last year with the release of a hits compilation, and her fourth studio album is expected later this year.
Pitbull, a Miami rap sensation who often references his Cuban heritage in his party anthems, is currently on tour promoting "Rebelution."
Most people would not readily identify some of the honorees as Latino artists. R&B singer Maxwell, who returned to the music scene this year with the highly praised "BLACKsummers'night," was born in New York but his family hails from Puerto Rico and the West Indies. Fergie and will.i.am are the best-known members of the Black Eyed Peas, but rapper Taboo was born Jaime Luis Gomez in East Los Angeles.
Carter is less known for her music than her acting, but this year's release of "At Last," a collection of standards, marked her return to her first love. "My love of music began at my Mexican grandma's house in Arizona," Carter recalls. "I have such wonderful childhood memories of tortillas coming off the flat pan, chiles roasting. Then the guitars would come out, and the singing would begin."
Regarding the Almas, the singer-actress says, "This honor is especially meaningful to me given the tremendous pride I have in my Latin roots."
